While walking across Asia, Bjorn contracted a rare influenza and would likely have died on the plans of Kalymykia had it not been for a party of Kalmyk horsemen. These descendants of Atilla lashed Bjorn to their strongest horse, a stallion named Quirsan. For seven days Quirsan galloped alone across the wasteland, with no company save Bjorn's delirious cries of agony. On the eighth day Bjorn was delivered unto a Kalmyk healer named Awontelth. Seeing at once that Bjorn was languishing from the demonic parasite whose name cannot be uttered, Awontelth slashed open Bjorn's wrists and bled him to death. Deprived of its host, the demon vanished in flash of lightning, and Awontelth commenced the thirteen hour throat song that would return Bjorn to the realm of the living. On awaking Bjorn found his arms bandaged with parchment on which Awontelth had written. Bjorn has translated these spells and will use them as the basis for the lyrical content of the album Vagabondage.All comments (1)
