The Red Sparrow

The Red Sparrow is an instrumental project created by former Lucius Hunt and A Static Dream front man, Sean Hayter. The Red Sparrow is a musical journey which follows the story of The Red Sparrow and the human characters that are manipulated by him. The debut album entitled, “Silently Swarming” outlines the initial meeting of the human character and The Red Sparrow. The Red Sparrow deludes the human and leads him through a downward spiral, dragging the character through an Inferno of emotional turmoil and struggle. The story then shifts focus when the character is joined by a number of other people who too are influenced by The Red Sparrow. This is covered in the second album titled “Bloodfeathers.” Following this, The Red Sparrow prepares the character for a final confrontation between the human spirit and the manipulative forces which make The Red Sparrow. The third instalment is the album called “Fight or Flight.”

The Red Sparrow creator, Sean Hayter has released all three albums to date independently, and has also produced a number of EPs for The Red Sparrow project. The first EP features five tracks directly taken from “Silently Swarming,” and is titled “The Sparrow’s Song.” This EP covers the rise of The Red Sparrow and how he is able to control the character. Further to this, the album “Bloodfeathers” has produced one EP entitled, “290408.” This EP covers the depature of The Red Sparrow from the character and the possession of the band of brothers in which the character has come to associate with through the story. The Red Sparrow’s third album, “Fight or Flight” is also able to be divided into two separate EPs. The first titled, “The Flight” and the second part is simply titled, “The Fight.” These EPs separate the third instalment by collating The Red Sparrow’s flight reflex and his fight response. They cover the decisions and choices which confuse and create The Red Sparrow and the character’s toxic bond. The Red Sparrow project is also about emotions. The music is designed to create emotional responses in the listener without the use of vocabulary. All the music has been created during peaks of emotional behaviour. The mood of the writer is what is expressed in the music. All the tracks are of the ‘punk-rock-mentality’ in that all the music is played unplanned and in one take. This is to ensure that the emotions which the writer is feeling at the time are accurately portrayed in the songs. The Red Sparrow is Sean Hayter’s solo project; however there have been some moments of collaboration from Ryan Brown, Jonathan Staunton, Dylan Bell, Luke Roberts, Steven Wilton and Lachlan McFadden. These contributions have been musical, emotional and personal. The efforts put in to the music by all parties are truly inspirational and awe inspiring.
