The Raine
The Raine is a Gothic/Dream Pop band that draws on elements from the 80s and 90s post punk movement.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Raine began performing in 1997 as an answer to the deficit of dark yet dreamy pop bands. Based in Los Angeles, Peter, former frontman of The New Ambassadors of Love, (1994-96) Jay, and Paul began to play the local gothic club circuit. Although warmly received, they began to feel the limitations of the scene. With Peter's acoustic singer/songwriter experience, they strive to blend such elements as ethereal vocals and pop rock renderings similar to the Chameleons and Suede.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have played several LA Goth clubs. I enjoy performing more than anything. I never feel more comfortable or alive.
