Band/artist history
The Pumpkin King: Originally started writting lyrics early 1997, with no gimic or character concept the songs were pointless and never ended up coming to be. After a few failed attempts at creating a duo with friends from school/town etc PK decided it was best to try things solo. A long-term "Juggalo" PK originally was nothing more then another kid trying to create the next "Twiztid", starting off wearing nothing but an over sized hoodie and writting songs about murder. After months of no accomplishments and getting nowhere, the "wannabe" stage ended and things took a step toward being something more serious. Around Halloween 1998, PK created the jackolatern face that he later became known for using black & white face paint infront of his bathroom mirror. Originally only used for that night, the design interested him so much that he started drawling it on characters for crude comics and poster's he made himself. After writting a handful of songs he thought were finally "good enough" to try to record, he decided that he needed a name to go along with the Serial Killer image the songs portrayed. It was after that he started using the face paint image and the name "The Pumpkin King"(being a fan of the cult addictive film "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Chritmas"). Created his first online EP in 1999 called "Fresh Crop" that was promoted through a fake label from the UK called "ToneDeath Records". ToneDeath was what taunt PK the basics to recording. Even though he only used a computer, a shitty recording program and a computer microphone, PK released two seperate online EPs "Fresh Crop" & "A Night in The Pumpkin Patch" totalling 18 tracks he produced himself with stolen beats from online and his cheap-ass home setup. While in ToneDeath, PK met his long time friend, Skitzo Skrilla, and worked together on several projects for ToneDeath. Feeling there was nothing left to accomplish through the small UK based "label", Skitzo Skrilla united with PK to create "Wasteland Entertainment". Wasteland Entertainment was more productive, began real studio work, more professional music and advertising. Bringing in friends of Skitzo Skrilla, W.E. slowly started to grow, and picked up more names as it went on. Unheard Psycho aka U- fol, was shortly on the label, before creative differences and beef with ToneDeath caused things to come apart. Wasteland lost rights to its domain name, and because of money and social problems Skitzo Skrilla started losing touch with everyone else involved. Being the head of the label things slowly drifted to a halt, and PK went off on a solo project. At the begining of 2003, PK started studio work for his first professional cd, "Harvest Moon". Spending alot of time creating beats with his studio engineer Al Paul, PK started the project strong and quickly produced the first few tracks to the cd. Shiortly after Psychopathic Records made annoucements for a contest to be the next artist on their label. THE UNDERGROUND PSYCHOS CONTEST. Being a juggalo since age 12, PK decided to enter the contest with his three strongest tracks from Harvest Moon: Kill Me, Feel My Pain, and My Axe Murdering Ways. Because the contest required professional grade productions, the sampler had to be pressed. After getting the samplers made and going to great expense to have everything finished for the contest, PK bearly made the deadline (if the mail made it in time at all). And never made the top 50 countdown. Because of the let down and money put into the sampler's PK nearly gave up on the project. After nearly six months, PK went back into the studio to continue the cd. After going into a short amount of debt and owing back payments to the studio, PK finished the cd and started designs for the pressing production. The cd completed in early 2006, and was released for purchase in June 06', from the original KingOfThePatch.com. Harvest Moon made little impact and few sales in the first few months following the release. Only six months after the release of the cd did PK begin work on other projects. Colab work with other artist and live shows throughout Pennsylvannia. Live shows lead to many connections with local artists and venues. PK made friends with many artists in PA's local underground and continues to until this day. After taking a short time off, considering leaving music to start a family, and having that all fall through the floor because of a cheating drug-addict whore. PK was back in underground and started recruiting for his next cd project, "We're All Mad Here". PK is now currently working and half way through his new cd project featuring some of PA's (and other) hottest underground artists. Thanks to sites like myspace and soundclick, PK was able to help promote himself and make a name for himself in a small way. Hopefully with the release of WAMH he will be able to start making a bigger impact on the underground and start showing what the next generation of Wicked Shit can do. But
