4 Piece Old Skool Punk band. Play mostly original material with some covers by The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Sham69 and The Buzzcocks. We are loud and energetic with political lyrics.
The Pratts were formed from the charred remains of a band formed by Jimmy, Steve and Chris many moons ago. This Band had many, many names and a few band members to go, never really settling. The band's last name was THE PRATTS and consisted of Jimmy - vox and g-tar, Chris - the trusty axe, Steve - Bass and Tez - Drums. After being kicked out of our practise hall for a light smashing incident which occurred when Chris went roamin' in the gloamin' one week, the band fell apart. Months later an attempt was made to reunite the band, but as we couldn't contact our drummer Tez, practises were often unproductive and resulted in a wee bust up between Jimmy and Steve which led to Steve being booted out about October 2003. Next day Liam is contacted to play the bass and Jimmy writes 'Don't Listen To Them' and 'Sex & Drugs & Football' (with Liam's help on the bass solo) later that week. Liam arranges a recording date at his college and a gig the day after, and with less than a week until this, THE PRATTS are still drummer less, with Tez unable to do either due to work commitments in a Bingo Hall, the last resort is to recruit Steve, the ex-bassist, to play the drums (the irony is that he was kicked out coz he sat battering the drums instead of playing the bass) just for these two days. On Nov 5th the four Pratts play in the same room together for the first time and record 'Teenage Rebel'. This is considered the first day of THE PRATTS. Next day the band play Strawberry Fields for their first gig, playing 9 of the 10 songs together for the first time (including a horrendous version of SLF's 'Wasted Life') but at the time we felt really proud of what we had done, played a gig a day after playing together for the first time with a make-shift line up. From that day we decided to stick together and maybe one day people will remember us for our music.
We play loads of gigs in Glasgow and North Lanarkshire area. We love playing our gig more than anything and our best moments are when we get the great response from the crowd
The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Sham69, The Buzzcocks, and many other old skool punk bands
