The Poundstretchers
We’re the poundstretchers. We’re a punk band based in Derbyshire in the UK. We kinda sound like Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Teen Idols and the Queers. There used to be 3 of us and now there are 4 members 1) Tom stretcher (me) Guitar and vocals, 2) Panic Bass and backing vocals, 3) Toes Drums, and the new guy 4) Glyn Guitar and backing vocals. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started off in the garage and thats pretty much where we still are after 3 years. We're building up a big catalogue of songs now with irregular gigs but regular CD releases. Had a change of bass player after the first album and a new guitarist is added for the next one.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not very often but we'd love to. We're more of a studio band i guess, if like us and want to give us a gig email me tom@stretcherrecords.co.uk
Your musical influences
We're a punk band so obviously Ramones but we love and kinda sound a bit like Screeching Weasel, Teen Idols, the Queers. We also love but don't sound directly like... Minor threat, nofx, descendents. Most punk bands i guess but not emo!
What equipment do you use?
Is anyone interested in this? Strats, P basses and anyone's drum kit. Standard punk equipment.
