The Poseurs
The Poseurs were an idea bourne during the 1980's second wave British Invasion, and sought to tap into the 60's soundscapes of the Mod Revival movement. The Poseurs hoped to impact the social condition of Maggie Thatcher's England, which proved difficult as the entire Band was from Southern California. After a decade of nothing in particular, the core of the Band moved to Portland, Oregon, lived in the west coast equivalent of the English Rain, and fell into a deep malaise which was necessary to write sad lyrics to upbeat pop tunes. Thanks to the advent of the previaling wage job, The Poseurs are finally in the studio to capture their sound. Expect unabashed Beatles, Brian Wilson, and ELO inspired harmonies with an occasional foray into darker territory so well occupied by the likes of Nick Drake, Neil Finn, and Elliott Smith. We're only here to enjoy the music, hope you do too. Cheers, The Poseurs.Have you performed in front of an audience? The Poseurs have never played live. If our fan conducts a serious write-in campaign, or if Virgin Records is looking for 30-40 year old teen sensations, all that could change...
