The Paul Brodt Quartet
We are a modern jazz group playing mostly all originals of mine. The members include Chuck Payne on drums, Andrew Gordon on Bass, Andrew Lienhard on piano, and myself on alto sax.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We all gig with various other groups. Our quartet started as a joint venture by the drummer, Chuck Payne, and myself to start a jazz group that doesn't stick to the safe path that most groups use, playing the same old standards and styles. We wanted to start a group that dealt heavily with odd time signitures and unconventional forms.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play at jazz clubs around the Houston area.
