The Oven
Everybody Is Hypnotized Everybody Is Hypnotized
This would definitely be a single and it's the first song on my album.
One Big Blob One Big Blob
This used to be the first song on the album. It would also be a single, I think, even though I'm not 100% happy with the tune/my performance.
Do Better/Magic Family Do Better/Magic Family
I never liked the tune or lyrics to the first part of 'Magic Family', and I was sad to see the same things from the first part of 'Do Better' go. So I combined them and it actually worked!
Live On (Unchained) Live On (Unchained)
This used to be one of my least favourites, but I changed it up a lot, and my friend Chris laid down some extra guitar tracks, and I think it turned out amazing.
Poles Reverse Poles Reverse
This'll never be one of my favourite songs of mine, but I think it's turned out about as well as it possibly ever could. I'm glad I kept it around long enough to get it to this point.
What Happened? What Happened?
I changed up the choruses a lot and I think it's finally reached its full potential.
Effable Effable
I've had this song for a long time, but just finished producing it this week. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Actions Actions
I was accidentally inspired by world events to write this depressing song. I redid the verse vocals and fiddled with some levels and this is now in its final version.
Build Up Build Up
'Do Better' wasn't really working on the album. I needed something short, upbeat and catchy to take its place and this is what I came up with. It works.
Destination: Home Destination: Home
Frankly, I think this is b-side material (mainly b/c of the lyrics) but people (i.e. my mom) seem to like it and wouldn't be happy with me if I didn't include it. Plus, it fits perfectly after Do Better/Magic Family.
Magic Family Magic Family
Well, I decided to embrace the weirdness of the first part of this song. It always bothered me how poppy the music was compared to how dull I sounded singing it seriously, so I tried something different. Not bad, but it won't be on the album.
Do Better Do Better
I spent so much time producing this song. Ironic, since at one point I was thinking of ditching it, but I stuck with it because I like the lyrics and I thought it would be pretty easy. I still like the lyrics, but it was HARD. This won't be on there
What Happened? (Basement Demo) What Happened? (Basement Demo)
Vigil (Curried Goat) Vigil (Curried Goat)
This is actually a remix we did of a song by our friend Gary, but with a lot of added live instrumentation by me, and of course the abstract stylings of my partner, Dave.
Aspirations Aspirations
Another Esperanto song. The "Plague Language" label showed interest in this song and were gonna put it on one of their compilation CDs, but now they won't return my e-mails. Damn!
Give Us Grace Give Us Grace
A "Drum 'n' Bass" song I did with my roommate for our band, Esperanto.
