The Odds are a multi-award winning band from Northwest Arkansas.
Their most recent award is winning Album and Artist of the Year at the 2005 Northwest Arkansas Music Awards.
The band also won the title of Best Original Band in Arkansas by winning The 2005 Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase.
They also won 7 awards at the 2004 Ozark Music Awards.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Odds are a five-piece rock band from Arkansas playing original music with a mix of cover songs.
The band won Album of the Year and Artist of the Year at the 2005 North Arkansas Music Awards.
Winners of The 2005 Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase title of Best Original Music Band in Arkansas.
They have completed their first CD, Stick It In Your Pocket, which won Best Album at the 2004 Ozark Music Awards. They also won Best New Band, Best Album Cover, Best Original Song, and the coveted Artist of the Year.
The band advanced to the finals of the nationwide Take A Shot At Cabo contest, on the merits of their CD and two band contest victories at the Memphis Hard Rock Café, and have had members featured nationally on GuitarPlayer.com.
The Odds are Derek Van Lynn on keyboards and vocals, Matt Perrine on guitar, Keith Hollingshead on drums, Kevin Grimwood on bass and vocals, and Rick Erke on congas, bongos, and percussion.
The Odds have performed with Jimmie Vaughan and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, among others, and have been a returning feature at Fayettevilles Bikes, Blues, and BBQ Festival. They contributed a song to Band Together, a benefit CD for the Northwest Arkansas Childrens Shelter.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live all over Arkansas and surrounding areas. We love playing live. Our most special moment is yet to come when we play at Riverfest on 05/27/2005 with The Wallflowers and BB King.
