The New Whatever
Hey guys i wish were a euro trash rock band but unfortunetely we're not. We're a bunch of guys from the warwick/monroe area of New York and we love playing music. We play a semi original style of acoustic/electric alternative rock. We write tons of origanal songs and play many exciting and fun covers as well. we play open mics, parties, gigs, weddings, anything. hope you enjoy our music.Band/artist history
The New Whatever consits of three members, Ryan, Owen, and Brendan. We are from Warwick and Monroe New York. We play folkish, funkified, jazzed up alternative acoustic/electric rock. Ryan Starks wirites most of the lyrics and the music is put together through all 3 members ideas. We are influenced by a wiiiide variety of bands such as Superdrag, Radiohead, Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer, Cursive, Jamie Cullum, Damien Rice, Marcy Playground, Bright Eyes, M Ward, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, The Cure, MMW, Zep, James Taylor, THe Counting Crows, Bjork, and god knows how many other bands. You may sometimes find us playing covers of some of those bands, our favorites including, Exit Music(for a film), Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse(MTB), Such Great Heights(PS) and others. We play lots of open mics and other such events. The band first started with Ryan writing songs as earlier as 7th grade to much applause and picking up Jimi Boyce, Jared Treanor and Owen Nachtigal to form the Panacea. The Panacea later broke up and reformed as Ryan, Owen, and Emily Beyer. Sadly Emily has gone to college and the Ryan and Owen were left to do duo shows again. A freind of Ryans, Brendan from hit Monroe band Sneaky G was asked to play a benefit at Boodles opera house but since the other members were away asked Ryan (a former band mate in experimental jazz band The Grease Wiping Conspiracy) and Owen to play with him. They worked a few songs together that Ryan and Owen allready had and played the Show at boodles under the name The New Whatever and have been a hit ever since.Have you performed in front of an audience?We play anywhere. WE love playing live. we used to only record live because we thought it captured the true feeling of the songs better than in the studio but we also thought that sometimes we sound like ass live.

o shitt i wish were a techno band. but we use Roland, Fender and Stage amps, Ovation, Takamine, Fender, and Schector guitars, Zoom, MxR, and Boss effects, Pearl percussion, Canadian maple Djembe, Paiste cymbals, and Mackie mixing products, and Zoom 4 track digital.Anything else?
