The Needles
We're fully charged and we have no blood to spare. We have many machines to touch and we are all slaves to the tempo. We evolved from cats and we are glowing brightly for now.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We started playing upstairs until the cops almost hauled us away one night for disturbing the peace. So we moved into the A-frame and stopped using accoustic drums. We played every Friday for 3 years. Now we are playing gigs at places that have an interest in unique and experimental music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've only recently started playing live even though we've been playing for over 3 years. We like it and it's interesting to the audience because, at the time of this writing, we improvise the entire show. We've never played the same song twice.
Your musical influences
Our diverse musical interests are the reason our music combines so many genres. Our influences come from from bands like T-Rex, Pigface, Zappa, Beefheart, Frank Black, Eno, Bowie, Aphex Twin, Ex Girls, Pink Floyd, KMFDM, Thrill Kill, Bad Brains, Funkadelic and The Four Skins.
What equipment do you use?
Besides guitar and bass we have a lot of machines to touch. We use Korg Electribes units, Korg Karma, Roland JP-8080 analog modeling synth, Yahama digital synth and a pant load of sound processors, samplers, midi drum pads and assorted percussions.
Anything else?
We have no blood to spare so don't ask.
