The Murgatroyds
We are a 3-piece Instrumental band from Dallas,TX.
We produce a high-energy brand of Instrumental Rock, not really Surf, but not totally unlike it.
We like to think we mix surf melodies with punk sensibilites...I.E. short, fast songs with no filler...we are The Murgatroyds!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I wrote these songs and had them for several years. Finally I decided to put a band together and perform them...so here we are...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we play live...every time...uhhhh, is that what you meant? Playing live is cool...
Your musical influences
I definitely like surf and space instumental (Dick Dale, Man or Astroman, Link Wray) but also really like Punk and Rock, we kind of fuse the two together.
What equipment do you use?
We have a remakably light complement of equipment...guitar, bass, amps and drums...
