The Mouse and The Moose started in 2002 in Thousand Oaks, CA, as an amalgamation of two bands and a lot of friends. The Marionettes which included Justin and Dane. and The Surf Rock Band which had Cody, Justin, and Dane. The idea at first was to just spazz out with friends. Jesse sang on the first song we wrote, then Cody started doing vocals on other songs. Jesse introduced us to Philip, and he started playing bass. Our friend Ryan also began doing vocals. We recorded Der Flatermoose, our first ep after the summer of 2002. In November Cody, Justin, Philip, and Dane recorded a music video at Cal State Northridge, for a friend of our's class, Craig. We then played our first Show on November 21th 2002, we had 6 different singers that night, and I think only played 6 songs. The beginning of 2003, Jesse and Cody had both stopped doing vocals, and Ryan only did vocals for one song live, occasionally. During 2004 The Mouse and The Moose was a 3 piece, Dane (drums) , Philip (bass), and Justin (guitar). We recorded The Boba ep 7" and played around Southern California a lot. Justin and Philip had wanted to stop doing vocals and towards the end of 2004 we happened to meet Rory. January 1st 2005 we played our first show as a 4 piece Rory, Justin, Philip, and Dane. Over the year we recorded hours of live footage and live recordings, as well as an unnamed full length. Recorded as a 3 piece, Justin, Rory, and Philip. By the beginning of 2006 most of the members had started moving for work and school. Semi permanent hiatus as of 2007.
