The Media Darlings were formed by Maribeth (vocals/drum) and Melissa (guitars). They have been a full band but they really enjoy the Antifolk duo that they are today. They find that not only do they write their best songs together, but they are the only ones who are really serious about doing something with their music (as far as other band members have been).
The Media Darlings are "Anti-folk" but are also a bit of Garage Rock at times.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
A Brief History:
Maribeth and Melissa met in High School, in a music class, circa 2000 in New York.
Ever since then they've been friends. They've played music on and off together but are really serious about it now. For a while they had Brian on drums and Warren on bass but they were too busy with graduating and careers to focus on the music. Plus they lived in completely different places which made it even harder. (word)
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, every day is a live show kidz.

The Moldy Peaches, Adam Green, Kimya Dawson, Regina Spektor, The Strokes (We are very influenced by Anti-folk)
