"Ive come to burn your ears
to fill my belly with your tears
to shoot a poison in your vain
that makes you feel the pain again"
Music is emotion.
Every line, every note should be trembling and breathing. Of course its about beauty, but first and foremost it should touch each listener in the deepest way possible.
In this spirit "the marble faun" was born. Its the project of songwriter Christoph Klinger. The music breathes the spirit of contemporary folk-singers, like Bright Eyes and Devendra Banhart, and combines it with the floating artistry of Radiohead and Björk. Its emotion. The lyrics circle 'round human life, its absurdities and mysteries, 'round pain, rage, affection and the bewilderment, that hangs over everything like thick fog.
The ep "Some Songs To Burn Your Ears" is a first introduction to the artistic work of "the marble faun". All songs are written, arranged and performed by Christoph Klinger, except Percussions on "Rain" by Nino Latella.
The music of "the marble faun" is a mixture of contemporary, young Folk singers and a new, artful kind of pop. Ian Andersons lyrical smartness may be an influence, as well as the emotional songwriting of Bright Eyes. And of course the later radiohead.
