In the world of man there are giants and midgets. Some grow large and there heads get so big the fall over and die. Others keep it real and down to a personal level (your knees). Hailing from OC, The Maple Lane has the best of both worlds. No, this is not about popularity, Anthony is short and Rudy is huge. Anyways, The Maple lane started out as a two-person duo called Lesser Half. This little garage amusement was comprised of Logan Danforth on drums and Danny Hemeon on guitar. Shortly thereafter, they became a three-person duo with the addition of Casey Younger on bass. The threesome continued to jam and found they were going nowhere. A singer was needed to complete the mix. After an endless search the talent was found in a short mumbling character. The addition of Anthony King on vocals the band finally started moving forward as well as other directions. Still, the mix was not right and it came to a standstill. Moose. Then, like a donkey eating a waffle came the final and key addition to the band. His name was (and still is) Rudy Avalon. The band finally had what it needed. Jamming commenced for a couple months and then Danny got lost in Walmart and no one heard from him for a long while. In his absence the rest of the quintet started to shape a new sound. Scrap metal was just not going to cut it any longer. This new direction was the best decision made by the band and is what drives them today. (Danny eventually escaped and rejoined). Watch for us because we will not get famous enough to get fancy rides.Have you performed in front of an audience?We play live in portland, it's rather close to our home town, Oregon City, and it has a great music community. Playing live is the reason we play at all.
