The Lust I Seek

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Lust I Seek was formed during the summer of 01, although some words of forming a gothic metal band were spoken between me and Pekkala almost a year before. Finding the members to perform such style was pretty hard thing to do. First additional member (I think) was Valkealahti for drums. Sissala and Lehtonen also played with us for some time, but our paths splitted. The core of the band formed to be Pekkala, Valkealahti and myself, other members played occasionally with us and in time Ojala became a permanent member to a crew. With just the four of us we managed to create few songs and their influences lied somewhere in doom metal. At this time we were looking for second guitarist and we are still looking for someone to take care of the keyboards. After some time our friend Suhonen heard our rehearsal material and since we were looking for second guitarist and he was ready to try it out we tested it. It worked well for both of us and he became a permanent fill to the crew. After some time training we decided to release a demo recording containing few songs so the search for the recording place began. It was not hard decision after all, we were all pretty sure to enter GR-Studio which had recorded (at that time) just few bands (including our earlier BM-project) so it was fair deal for everyone. During the final weeks of 02 we were recording Where Shadows Grow Silent and at the beginning of 03 we finally got our hands to a mixed and mastered piece of demo. So, first release was out, what to shoot next? Tried to get ourselves on a gig, but there just seemed no decent places/events to go and play at. First half of 03 was really slowing down our process because me and Valkealahti went to army and couldnt participate at a level we were willing. Finally got ourselves a gig at Rysköörock, Alavus, local fair event at the heart of summer. We were a little excited of course. Hot summer evening, a little beer and outdoor gig, that was after all great thing to start with. Played the songs from the first release and some new stuff plus one cover. After the gig feelings were really high-spirited and why wouldnt they be? It was first appearance at live situation and all went well. But our hunger was not even close to be satisfied, we craved for more and looked for gigs even more actively than before. Some time after, Vesku from Spiritus Mortis asked us to play with them at their record release gig. It was great opportunity we wouldnt want to miss. So our second appearance was with them, we were heating the crowd at Capri, Alavus. It was great gig, all together. Then came the time to try again the studio life and get something concrete done once again. After discussing over few months as to where go for recordings we decided to stay at GR because of the low costs and overall good sounds. This time, it seems, everything got wrong. Troubles with the drums started it out going on into the minor problems with vocals and delays with the keyboards. It seems this project never sees the light of the day. Slowly, but surely Serpent Scripts spawned himself, soon to be released, reviewed and condemned.
