The LooseKnits
The LooseKnits.. We're a couple of guys playin' music in the central north eastern part of Ohio. We have a unique sound and either you like it or you don't.. We also have a variety of sounds that we create. Just listen to our songs! Our instrumentational arsenol includes piano, drums, electric keyboards, synthesizers, computer generated effects, trumpet, electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica, vocal creations, guitar cases, trumpet cases, billiard balls, fingers, and sometimes anything we can find laying around...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Andy and I met each other when I was seven years old (born in 1987.) I started to take piano lessons in the first grade (age five). Andy began playing keyboards with me, I was a pianist, and he moved to guitar later. He took lessons briefly but soon realized he was picking it up faster than what they were trying to teach so he began to teach himself. Together, we've been playing music since I was 10 or 11 years old (keyboards in the basement.) The rest is still in progress, so STAY TUNED.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We haven't played any live gigs, yet. I can't seem to remember the drum parts enough to even re-create a song.. Otherwise, we're sorta looking for some "gigs."
Your musical influences
I know that Andy and I both like Metallica, 311, Weezer, The White Stripes, David Bowie, The Pixies, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Jimmy Eat World, Cake, and a few others. We both have our selective favorites, of course, but those are some that we both love.
What equipment do you use?
Drums: Tama Rockstar 5-piece, Sabian B8 Series Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks, Tama Hardware
Guitars/Equipment: Squier Telecaster Custom, Westwood SG style, Fender DG-11, ESP LTD V-100, Fender Stage 100 DSP Head, (2) Fender DT412 Cabinets, Peavey Transfex Pro 212, Proco Silent Knight Cables, Kordex Cables, Various/Random guitar picks
Anything else?
I just don't want everyone to think that we're some band that thinks we're the shit, because we don't. We like our own music and I try to share it with my friends, but to think that I'm this great musician and stuff like some other local bands do is another thing. I know we don't play gigs. I know we're not professional quality. I know we're not signed. Blah blah blah...
