Band/artist history
The Lighthouse Gospelettes Background/History: The original Lighthouse Gospelettes of Athens, Georgia were inspired by a male quartet group formed in the 1940s named The Lighthouse Gospel Singers (of Athens, GA). The father and grandfather of most members of the Lighthouse Gospelettes, Mr. Henry Grady Roach, Sr., was an original member of that group. After years of watching and listening to Mr. Henry Grady Roach, Sr. sing with the Lighthouse Gospel Singers, the daughters Alma (Roach) Stroud, Bessie (Roach) Willis, and Mary (Roach) Griffith were inspired to start singing as an unnamed accapella trio at St. Marys Baptist Church. Later, the group increased its number of members and was given its name, The Lighthouse Gospelettes by the late Mr. Roy Brown. Among the original Lighthouse Gospelettes were: Mary Helen (Roach) Griffith, Bessie (Roach) Willis, Louise Green, and Alma (Roach) Stroud, Yvonne (Roach) Bulger, Henry Grady Roach, Jr., Henry Richie (pianist). Later there were other members such as: Pamela (Roach) Elder, Gwendolyn (Roach) Rittenberry, Gloria Green, Mamie (Robinson) McClain, Bobbie Sue (Pittman) Richie, Juanita (Harris) Johnson, Mary (Henry) McKenny. Through the years, the group has changed members and musicians. One original member of the group still stands strong as the 1st Soprano and mother of the group. Her name is Alma Stroud. She has been singing with The Lighthouse Gospelettes for approximately 40 years or maybe more. She says shes lost count, but nevertheless, she has been a long-time dedicated member who stands strong and definitely sings strong. The Lighthouse Gospelettes are blessed to have had her talent throughout the years and presently. She brings an enormous blast of spirit to the group. The current group titled, The Lighthouse Gospelettes have been singing together for more than twenty years. The late Ms. Isolene Roach, mother of original member Alma Stroud, inspired Lisa Roach-Wilmore (youngest daughter of the late Ms. Isolene Roach), and Almas daughters: Cassandra Stroud, and Dierdra Stroud-Lee (also pianist) to began singing as a trio doing songs such as, Amazing Grace, Stranger on the Road, and more. Later, this trio pulled together with Alma Stroud and formed todays Lighthouse Gospelettes: Alma Stroud, Lisa Roach-Wilmore (Sister of Alma Stroud), Dierdra Stroud-Lee and Cassandra Stroud (Both daughters of Alma Stroud & George Stroud, Jr.). When this group first started, they only had a pianist, George Stroud, Jr. Currently, the musicians are: George Stroud, Jr. - Bass Guitar (Almas Husband), Stanley Stroud - Lead Guitar (Son of Alma and George Stroud), Takeio Stroud - Percussion (Alma and Georges grandson, Son of Stanley Stroud), Howard Stroud, Jr. - Keyboard (Nephew of George and Alma Stroud), Dierdra Stroud-Lee - Keyboard (Daughter of Alma and George Stroud). Since Takeio Stroud (Percussion) is residing in Nashville, TN, they are blessed to have back with them Dennis Daniel - Percussion (Cousin of Alma Stroud, Lisa Roach-Wilmore and other members). The Lighthouse Gospelettes are also blessed with Rodney Stroud (Son of Alma and George Stroud) as Sound Technician, Stanley Stroud (Lead Guitarist) as Sound Engineer/Technician and Edward Barnett (who is like family) as Stage Hand/Asst. Sound Tech. This family group is inspired by the Word of God and love to sing praises to God. Their reason is For it is through him we live, move and have or being. They were offered an opportunity to record by Robert Mitchell, Sr., and owner of 2U Production Company. They worked diligently with producer, songwriter/composer, Pastor Michael Dennis of Atlanta, GA, Don McKenzie, Overdub Producer and Mixing Master of McMix Productions in Atlanta, GA. Also, co-producers were their very own Howard Stroud, Jr. (Music) and Dierdra Stroud-Lee (Vocals). The members of the Lighthouse Gospelettes are very talented songwriters/arrangers as well. In April of 1999, The Lord blessed The Lighthouse Gospelettes by allowing them to complete and release their first CD Recording Titled, Thank You Lord For Saving Me. In October 2002, the Lighthouse Gospelettes released their newest CD which is titled, A Little Something Different, under their own Indie Label: Getan Records. The CD was Recorded, Mixed and Mastered at Full Moon Studio, Watkinsville, GA. The Lighthouse Gospelettes are the Executive Producers of this new CD Release. The Lighthouse Gospelettes produced, wrote and arranged 10 of the 13 songs on the full album CD. Other songs were written and arranged by Pastor Michael Dennis of Atlanta, GA.

Your musical influences
We were brought up listening to soul music- both Secular and Gospel. Our parents and grandparents were gospel singers. We believe that singing that comes from the soul also touches the souls of those who listen. Gospel singing, if you are sincere and annointing by God, comes from deep down in your heart and soul, therefore it reaches others and offers comfort, joy, inspiration and salvation to those who listen.
