"Kyle Wood is an incredibly talented mandolin artiste'. His high lonesome vocals are electrifying! Here is a man who has the ability to transform a Beatles or a metal song into a totally unique interpretation. I can truly give Kyle my highest recommendation. Ya just got to hear him!" Ernie Winfrey, Paul McCartney's engineer for the Nashville Sessions, 1974 --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Kyle Wood has been a musical innovator for many years and already has a unique legacy in the bluegrass and acoustic music world. Now, he's taking the mandolin in a new direction by fusing it with pop and rock. The result is not only interesting, it's refreshing." Eric Brittingham/Cinderella - Double Platinum Hard Rock/Metal Bassist Yes, THAT Cinderella which sold triple platinum in the 1980s and still play their hard-rocking music to very large venues in Russia, the UK, Europe, South America, and the USA. Summer 2011 is their 25th anniversary tour. Eric, along with Cinderella band-mate, guitarist Jeff Labar, both guest on The Kyle Wood Project. ------------------------------------------------------- Kyle Wood DECEASED (was born Ronald Kyle Wood on February 10, 1966 in Nashville, TN) was an American musician primarily known as a mandolin player and lead vocalist for the progressive bluegrass group Crucial Smith. The group released three collections: Crucial Smith (1997), Morning Light (1999), both of which were produced by former New Grass Revival guitarist Pat Flynn, and Nine Lives (2002). A fourth collection remains unreleased. The band appeared at many prominent U.S. music festivals during its career including Telluride, Winterhawk, and The Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. Kyle began playing guitar at the age of eleven and took up the mandolin during his college years. He paid part of his college tuition by playing in the recruitment bands of two separate colleges. His first professional work was playing mandolin with country star Eddie Rabbitt. After Crucial Smith disbanded, Wood was involved in various studio and live projects and worked on his only solo collection of rock material with mandolin brought to the forefront as a lead rock instrument. "Cry" is from that project. Birth name: Ronald Kyle Wood (DECEASED) Born: February 10, 1966 Origin: Nashville, TN U.S.A.
