The Kim Basinger Band
Hey, we're the Kim Basinger Band. We all live in Palm Beach County, Florida, and we love playing local venues with our fellow bands.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We formed at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2003. Members of the band have since graduated and left for college, and we experienced some lineup changes. We won the 2006 South Florida Fair Battle of the Bands, getting us $1000, which financed our first album, Between Sin & Sanity. The album was recorded at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida (Nonpoint, Skindred, Sikth). The CD sold out at the release show. We are now writing and performing new music for another EP.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live at venues in South Florida.
Your musical influences
We love Streetlight Manifesto, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Reel Big Fish, old-school Catch 22, Mike Park, Rancid, Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Beatles, Mad Caddies, and The Slackers.
What equipment do you use?
Gibson and PRS guitars, Fender and Rogue basses, Bach brass, Shure mics, DW and Spaun drums, Zildjian cymbals, Evans drum heads, Crate amps, Fender bass amps, Planet Waves and Whirlwind cables.
