Where has all the good old fashion Metal gone? The Kill Junkies is a Stoner Murder Metal Band. But what the hell does that mean? When it comes right down to it They are just good old fashion Metal. What Rocked in 1976 when bands like Black Sabbath were just about be unleashed? What Rocked in 1986 when Slayer was taking metal to a new level? What Rocked in 1996 when Pantera ruled the planet? The same thing that The Kill Junkies are trying to do in 2006. JUST FUCKING ROCK!
Band/artist history
In early 2004 Chris Savoy and Jason Amelio members of one of Ventura County's longest running bands set out to start a good old fashion Horror Rock band. Well, that never happened. What did happen was they met a young drummer named Zach French. Setting out not sure if they would rehash what they had done in Fangboy and the Ghouls. Or become an all together new and diffrent beast. It was clear after a quick show followed by quite a few months of just jamming with each other that it would be the later of the two. The songs about dead things and killing people we still there but the sound of the band went the way of Black Sabbath and Kyuss more then The Misfits-y sound they had set out for. Stoner Murder Metal had been born. In '05 The Kill Junkies starting poking their heads out into the local bar scene again. Even if they were not playing a show with Chris Savoys other band H.A.T.E. a constant face at 'Junkies shows was H.A.T.E. drummer Chris Cromelin. One night in Nov '05 at a practice after a few beers Cromelin (also a guitar player) Joined us for a couple Slayer songs. A couple hours later ( and a couple more beer later) Cromelin had learned most of the set. They had even written a new song "Pratice". Chris Cromelin officaly joined the band and had his first show with the Kill Junkies in Dec '05. As the band heads into the studio to record it's first full release they look forward to seeing where their sound takes them next.
