The Kalifate

Kalifate is beyond doubt one of Nigeria's Realest Hip Hop Groups!
Band/artist history
Kalifate prides itself as one of Nigerias realest Hip-hop group and with time, Africas most renowned Hip-hop export. Initially forged by six friends in 1998 in Lagos, Nigeria, the group garnered for itself a near revered status in Nigerian Hip-hop. Their debue single"Do good" in 2000 was a radio hit. Subsequently, the group released its second single"Lagos City's Finest" a song that held Lagos and indeed the country hostage and amazement in 2002. The Song was a huge sensation creating buzz accolades on such media as africanhiphop.com as well as radio stations and several nigeria's hiphop music magazine. The debut album titled Join. In. Helping. Avert. Disaster in 2005 proved that real Hip-hop is indeed alive and well in Nigeria. However, due to unavoidable conditions, Kalifate was unable to fully release the album, thus failing its momentum to rise to expected prominence. Regardless, Kalifate continues to impact relevantlyon the music community. With the 2008 sophomore album titled Re-ink-a-nation just weeks from release, Kalifate once again launches a long anticipated comeback. However, this time, the team is composed of three members whose unwavering vision, direction and passion continue to fire the dream. They are Psalmurai, An-I-Mus and Dasuki. The sixteen tracker album has already began it's gathering of comments and excitement as Kalifate fans await the long overdue release of a Kalifate album. lFortunately for the fans...they will have what they wish for The Kalifate already has two more albums planned to be released after Re-ink-a-nation. The first post Re-ink-a-nation is tentaively titled "Motherlan" and the crew has already began talks with the great Afrcano maestro Lagbaja who will also play a significant role in the Album.
