The Interim Solution
Based in Columbus, Georgia, The Interim Solution is a straight-up rock'n'roll band with an earthy blend of guitars and bass, driving percussion, and intricate vocal harmonies. The band seeks to perform their arsenal of original material and favorite covers at live shows.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Lee, Shawn, and John went to high school together, all graduating in '91. That summer, Shawn and Lee began working on some original music and lyrics, and the three started getting together to work on the material. Practice became possible only on weekends, as they diverged to separate colleges. Eventually, a drummer was added to the lineup. For some reason, maintaining a drummer was a problem for the band; Andrew is the fifth, but having been with the band for a few years now, that problem no longer seems to plague them.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
The band has performed at many area clubs, as well as events such as Riverfest. Due to the band's guitarist relocating away from Columbus, the band was on a performance hiatus for a couple of years; he's now returned to Columbus and established a great practice pad for the band -- after getting back in the groove for a few months, revisiting old material and working up new originals and covers, they look forward to returning to the scene.
Your musical influences
The band's sound is most influenced by late 60's and early 70's psychedelic rock. To name a few key influences: the Beatles, the Band, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers Band, and the Who.
