From psychedelic patterns and hard beats to rock rhythms and drum rolls, HXN possesses the variety not many rappers have. He produces all of the music, performs the majority of the vocals (due to feature appearances), and even adds a musician’s touch by playing guitar riffs to compliment some of his tracks. After a stint with the crew thing, HXN decided to take matters into his own hands by going solo. He released his debut album, “The Hi-Priest”, and started a buzz with it in early 2004. Receiving airplay on underground and college radio across the US and in Canada, including internet radio such as Scrub Radio and Myspace, the album combined elements of electronica, hip-hop, and rock that resulted in a type of style different in many ways. Songs like ‘No. 1 Sinner’, and ‘Prayin’ Mantis Style’, which reached #2 on BUZZRadio's Top 30 chart, flash the hard-ass vibe listeners can appreciate. He further improved his resume by landing 2 soundtrack spots in the Substance Production film, “The Writing on the Wall: The Real American Graffiti”, a documentary depicting the relationship between hip-hop culture and the graffiti arts. HXN has stained the underground rap scene with an appetite for more, performing at spots all over the Chicago scene. While appearing at places like Durty Nellie's in Palatine, Goose Island in Wrigleyville, and Subterranean in Chicago, HXN has been igniting rhymes on any stage he steps on.

HXN (pronounced “hex-zen”) extends the range of his unique hybrid-style hip-hop beyond Chicago out to a large slice of the U.S. and International music markets by signing with Loud Dust Recordings for the 2006 release “Raw Bidness”, his 2nd statement in music. Standing in on many spots in the big list of performance roles in his music, HXN the Producer, MC, musician, vocalist & rapper continues to evolve the influences and add electronica, rock and intriguing rhythm into the HXN hip-hop brand which previously pointed to creative guidance from old school LL Cool J to Cypress Hill to Rage Against The Machine to Ozzy. Loud Dust Recordings has recognized HXN as one of the more original, emerging talents coming out of Chicago, a city that has cultivated so many.
