The High Life Tragedy
The High Life Tragedy
The High Life Tragedy was formed in fall of 2002. Ron Szucs (vocals/ guitar)and Adam Barry (drums) had played together in the Cleveland
pop-punk band GOTOJERSEY. They came together after the break-up to begin work on new progressive material.
They recorded a song for a local compilation entitled Home on the Strange Vol.II "Tales From Murder City".
This disc was produced by local producer Adam Probert of Strangelove Recording. After laying down drum and guitar tracks for "Mississippi Delta", they new there was a missing element. Adam stepped in and played bass and keyboards on the song.
After this successful session, The High Life Tragedy was formed.
They began recording and writing a collection of 6 songs for a release entitled "The Longer Now" in late 2003. The collaboration was again a huge success and was well recieved in the cleveland music scene.
In July of 2004, they rounded out the lineup with guitarist Pat Tiphoe. The group is continuing to push the boundaries of post-hardcore by
meshing strong elements of electronica with ambient-exotic melody to create
a truely unique texture.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
