The HGT Rap Collective

A balcony overlooking the nefarious backstreets of Barcelona. Crawling with pimps, hookers, dealers and the myriad other felons that inhabit every metropolis, it is here that the wheels of a hip hop revolution will begin to turn. 3:14 AM. March 23rd 2004. One man. One laptop. One wasted youth. Heskato. The fire of frustration raged inside him. His profound love of the lyrical arts of Hip Hop was being sullied on a daily basis. The atrocious homogeny of commercial rap that left such a bitter taste in his mouth had finally broken his spirit. He decided to fight back. H.G.T. represent.

At present we are four strong: Heskato AKA: Dan to the iz-H, Digital Danny H, H.E.S.K.E.T.H. The founding member of the crew. Its spiritual leader. The collective's svengali, the rap tsar, the Gate's own Del Boy. The undoubted King of Gate rap, his quintilingual abilities and peerless vocabulary are frightening. He single handedly instigated the revolution and fights tirelessly for the perfection of his art. ................................................. Benny C AKA: The Blue Collar Legal Scholar The silver tongued Trinity College Cambridge graduate. His life of privilege has warped his sense of self importance to such a degree that he has lost all sense of true self. A delusional, megalomaniacal, egotistical wild child. ................................................. Wheeler AKA: The Squealer An oompa loompa humping rhyme technician, he works to take the art to new, previously uncharted levels. He is a man who has devoted his life to his craft, making heart wrenching sacrifices in order to stay true to his dream. ................................................. Steffy C AKA: The SCC A true innovator, his tracks have always raised the bar. Now in semi-retirement after several run-ins with the law and a spell incarcerated at her Majesty's pleasure, the other three members pray that one day the Gate messiah, the undisputed King of the chorus will return. We can but hope. ................................................. Chrissy B AKA: Christopher - An internationally renowned DJ in his own right, He has been making beats for the H.G.T. collective since the beginning. Rasch D - A street kid from the backstreets of the H.L.M.s of Moutiers, his raw gangster rap stylings have added edge to several Gate rap tracks. ................................................. Vicious battles have been taking place since the revolution's inception. After many months of diplomatic manouevring, a ceasefire agreement was reached. Lyrical arms were downed and the crew united as one to venture forward as a collective and break new ground. New techniques, tools and rap comrades are expanding our Hip Hop horizons on a daily basis. With each passing day we become stronger.
