Third Generation Hillbilly Royalty, Johnny Hammer has teamed up with members of Mississippi Southern Rock band Southern Bred, Happy and Goat.
I'M THE MAN AND YOU AIN'T is the first single recently recorded in Nashville, TN at the Junction Recording Studio.
Inspired by writing sessions, the three have formed the Happy Goat Band and currently wrapping up the project called "HAPPY GOAT HAMMER". It's countryfide raw rootsy southern alternative rock blend of rhythm and melodies, steeped in the traditions of country, folk, and neo-hillbilly lyrics. The result is 100 proof goat buttin', mule kickin', happy gettin' renditions that will crank your mind. The boys are chompin' at the bit to get out and bring their own brand of Southern Alternative Country Rock Music to your town.Have you performed in front of an audience?Love to play live, any where we can, any where there is a crowd
Your musical influences
Hammer being the grandson of the "Queen of Country Music" Kitty Wells and Country Music pioneer Johnnie Wright understandably gets a lot of his influence from his roots. His mother also being a songwriter was on staff with Roger Miller, Willie Nelson, and others and Cedar Wood publishing company when she was just 17. His dad worked at Record World and was given great opportunities to listen to advance copies of all the hit records in all genres coming out at the time, and meeting these artists backstage at concerts. Also, being in the industry gave him a chance to watch the great producers of the time such as Owen Bradley. Touring at a young age he got to see the greats of Country Music, while learning to play to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, the Who, Steely Dan, Charlie Daniels, Sex Pistols and Gino Vanelli. So what you get is a very diverse musical base which comes out through his original music. Hard Drivin' rhythms, intricate melodies and counter melodies, with the old fashion story telling lyrics that really means something or conjures up emotions. Happy and Goat being from Mississippi bring blues and southern rock flair of the delta. Goat is a second generation music performer with his mom performing across the country and on the Louisiana Hay Ride. Both as well grew up listening to Merle Haggard and other country artists as well as have interests in the old Civil War ballads and camp songs.Michelle's Southern Rockers

Rocking tune long live Southern Rock helllllllllllllllll yeah !!!Crank it uppppppppppppp !What a great song. Real deal here...great humorous lyrics, good arrangement, great tones and playing and excellent mix and production. Superb vox with killer harmonies.
Some folks associate success with being rich and famous. I associate it with writing and recording a song like this.
If this doesn't make some record company guy sit up, he's an idiot. Well done guys!schweet !All comments (9)
