The Gypsy Feet Band
The band was originally put together by Ed Teja and Greg Renfro in 2003. The current version of the band has been growing and developing a local following for its laid back, fun music that ranges from old folk music to rock and roll. We can rock all night, playing a mix or originals and cover tunes. The lineup is Greg Renfro on guitar/bass/vocal/harmonica, Charlie Alfero on mandolin/tenor guitar/vocal, Shems Nickle on percussion, and Ed Teja on guitar/harmonica/vocal.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play fairly regularly around Silver City, NM, at the Twisted Vine or Isaacs.
Your musical influences
Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Muddy Waters, Joni Mitchell, J.J. Cale, John Fogarty, Rolling Stones, lots more...
What equipment do you use?
Whatever it takes. Martin acoustic guitars, Fender electric guitars and amp, doumbeck...Hohner and Lee Oskar harps, Shure Mikes (loves those 58s)...
Anything else?
We play for love and love to play. This band hangs together because we enjoy making music together, and the audience knows it.
