With over ONE MILLION PLAYS since summer 2002, The Front Porch Country Band became the most listened-to country recording artist in the world on the world's largest internet music subscriber system, MP3.com. Before the system went dark on 2 December 2003, The Front Porch Country Band charted a dozen WORLDWIDE NUMBER ONE songs from their two new albums.Band/artist history
"Front Cover Story of Original American Country Magazine -reprinted with permission."
It was always about the music. Six superb musicians. Consummate stage performers. Shared friendships and earned respect. Years spent separately and together in endlessly different combinations in studios and on the road in great regional bands. Openers. Headliners. Careers spent mastering mostly other people’s music. Ready now to lay down our own markets. To make our own musical statements in our own style. "Original American Country" it's called. Cultivated and harvested in the rich green valleys of Pennsylvania’s rolling Susquehanna River basin. And yes, the legend is true. A rock dropped out of the sky and this band was born. Just like the 30-ton meteor that exploded in that nearby cornfield on 23 July 2001, almost nobody saw it coming. But millions heard it when it hit. We heard it too, during a recording break on the studio's frontporch. Really. Within 72 hours we were suddenly making our own musical shock waves as the band's first hot original single rolled across radio airwaves. Audiences took immediate notice. Requests for live shows. Talk of an album. New original music. New original songs. Rehearsals scheduled. And then the tragedy struck. Like millions of their fellow countrymen, the utter anguish. But we're musicians, and the Sunday night rehearsal turns spontaneously into a 36-hour recording marathon session. Shared outpouring of grief. A creative explosion. A chance to help. And on September 18th 2001, exactly one week after the attacks, the airwaves roll again, this time in tribute to fallen heroes: AMERICAN STANDING TALL THE AMERICAN TRILOGY. "Historicthe greatest album ever to come out of Pennsylvania" the writer said. Now people really are listening. Heavy airplay in markets from New York to Hawaii. Scheduling the first national tour. Now finally, audiences coast to coast will see and hear the magic for themselves. All of America has been ready for this for a long time, and we’re all listening. Because after all, it was always about the music.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, definitely! One of our most memorable moments was a live worldwide simulcast of the music from our 9-11 tribute album, "America Standing Tall. The American Trilogy." Through this broadcast the band was able to touch fans from New York to Hawaii and beyond.

"Hot Rock..." is good, but CRAZY is awesome!"HOT ROCK CAME TO THE COUNTRY" is my favorite song on The Front Porch Country Band's 'Somebody Tonight" album. It's a real foot stomper. Does everyone agree?I bought their double-set a few months ago on Amazon.com. It's great. I have Somebody Tonight in the CD player in my car...it's the perfect Road Trip CD!I agree, check out the band's website www.frontporchcountryband.com...it's worth it!All comments (8)
