The FIXX is Big T (CEO of Format Records in Virgina) and Chris of Hampton, VA!!! We specialize in creating only the hottest instrumentals-hip-hop or R&B!!! This production crew has one of the hottest mixtapes in the area out called GONE IN 60 MINUTES: THE MIXTAPE featuring Tru-life, Signtist, Pure Soul (Group who has a hit record from '97 calledd "I Want You Back"), and the blazing remix to the Clipse single "Ma I Don't Love Her" fea. Faith Evans!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Me, and Chris met through a mutual friend, and my ex-girfriend in Hampton in November 2002-since we have collaborated on, and off-there is no stopping the pain-a telephone call with J Records CEO Clive Davis-pushed me to the point where I knew I could succeed in this business-I needed that in a time where I really wanted to hang it up!!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We only play live in the studio-apartment-house-wherever we can record-we always get beautiful results. Period!!!
Your musical influences
TINA MARIE DANIEL (My beautiful niece who was killed in Los Angeles July'99)-then after that-everyone who comes across the board with that hot shit!!! VA cats like Big Kev, the Clipse-Missy Elliot-The Neptunes, Timbaland-special shout to Teddy Riley (PosseDeep-Harlem) for coming down to VA over a decade ago, and helped pushed the minds of me, and the ones I just mentioned personally!!
What equipment do you use?
We don't kiss, and tell!!! We keep it simple-we don't like to sample-we play it out!!!
