The Fat Cat Project

Fat Cat was born in Chattanooga, TN in 1977 as Derrick L. Fuller, where he began rapping at the age of fifteen. At this age he was already affiliated with gangs and hustling on the street distributing drugs. His reputation on the street was getting noticed. Soon he would take on many other roles to make ends meet. He was a stick up kid, pimp, and stripshow promotor. Even though Fat Cat was apart of the "Life", music was always near and dear to his heart.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Fat Cat began to focus on and pursue his music endeavors in 1994. Since this time he has been featured on numerous album releases under Block Life Records in cluding: The UNIT (1996), G-Code (1998), Indangered Species (1999), P-Dubb (2000), Black Folk Inc. (2002), DJ Wally Sparks (2002), and the upcoming and Mr. Mobb (2003). Fat Cat has performed in numerous venues including the following: Chattanooga TN, Nashville TN, Memphis TN, Knoxville TN, Athens TN, Atlanta GA, Birmingham AL, Huntsville AL, Houston TX, Raleigh NC, Louisville, KY, and Orlando FL Fat Cat has established himself in Radio and Street Promotions, Artist Management, Public Relations, and Co-Production while pursuing his career as an artist

Your musical influences
Even though Fat Cat was indulging himself in the streets, he continued to have aspirations for the rap game. His music has been inspired by such artists as Ice Cube, Scarface, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eric B. and Rakim, Cool G Rap, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Dana Dame, Snoop Dogg, and X Clan. Incorporating elements from these various styles into his own style, Fat Cat has developed over the years into the most diverse artist in the industry, mastering and blending rap genre's such as gangsta rap, playa, club, booty shake, abstract, and lyrical hip hop having both underground and mainstream appeal.

Education: Fat Cat has earned his BS in Sociology and his MS in Criminal while simultaneously pursuing his rap career.
