The Ezra Blue Trio
I play as a soloist and with my Duo and Trio. We started as The Ezra Blue Trio and after the unexpected death of Bob Bryant, my dear friend and co founder I started doing Solo gigs since it would be almost impossible to replace Bobs musical sense and ability. I have now found other musicians and started playing Blues and other genres to get more gigs. I prefer Jazz because thats where my heart is. My website is WWW.EZRABLUE.COM and there are a few mp3 tunes of our work. I play Jazz guitar and utilize alto sax and vocalists (male and female)
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been keeping the band name alive for 12 years now
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing live and the feedback with the audience. I play mostly upper end restaurants where I dont have to play loud (ears again)and the musical tastes are finer.
Your musical influences
JAZZ JAZZ JAZZ and did I mention JAZZ ?????... also Blues (modern) I also play country (from my 10 years as a country chicken picker in El Paso Texas)
What equipment do you use?
About the only constant is my Start that I built myself and even then I am always switching pickups on it, my favorites are Alembic active strat pickups because they have a darker tone which I need for Jazz but can still get bright for country and other genres of music. At present I am using Carvin 7 way strat pickups. They are just fine right now but I know I'll get bored and will switch again. My favorite amp is a Line6 AX2 I cut in half, you know cut the head from the speaker cab so it wont be so @#$% heavy ! also like the Vetta
Anything else?
I need a foxy female singer !... dont we all. I have come to the conclusion that after going through 2 foxy singers and being divorced from them that I wont have another. Its a shame because I wrote a tune for one I had met about 6 years ago but she was hung up on some jerk and didnt want this jerk.
