The Ethics are a fresh and unique offering of warm melodies and subtle sonic texture from some Ottawa veterans.
The Ethics are Kevin Hersak (vocals,
guitar), Jeff Gleeson (guitar, vocals),
Tim Levans (bass), and Paul Ross
(drums).
Gleeson spent years performing with Jacob Two-Two while Hersak ventured onto the open stage of Rasputin's and then played solo shows. When the two started working on songs together about three years ago, the songs just gelled. "It's uncanny how we have a similar vision of what we want our sound to be, says Hersak.
Starting out as a duo, The Ethics found a niche in smaller, intimate venues. Their haunting brand of jazztinged roots-rock has now grown into a quartet with Jeff's former Jacob Two-Two bandmate Paul Ross joining on drums and Tim Levans rounding out the bottom on bass. Hersak says the capacity for a rhythm section has always existed in The Ethics "subtle" brand of roots-rock.Anything else?
