the encyclopedias
hi! i'm matt, and this is my music project called "the encyclopedias". i record songs in my basement.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
gone through various stages. first album came out in early summer of 2005. i hate talking about myself.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
yes, i do play live. i find it hard to play in my area, though, because the town i am in is musically different than me. there really is no one to play with, but i try to play as many shows as i can. i will most likely play anywhere.
Your musical influences
oh man. so many. here are some: phil elverum, the magnetic fields, the folk implosion, beat happening, catch the bear, elliott smith, mirah, the streets etc.
What equipment do you use?
lots of broken keyboards, an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar, shakers, ukelele, mouth organ, stomping, clapping, drums, etc.
Anything else?
