The Dramatic Noise Project
The "Dramatic Noise Project" is the brain child (or brain fart) of it's founder Andrew Ellis Broadus. Taking the best of Progressive Rock, New Age, Ambient, "Jam-band" ideals and putting on a show that starts with a song, ends with a song, and what happens in between is a fantastic dance of improvised music created between the audience and the artist. A dance of sweet sounds swirling the Spring time air.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?

"A venue somewhere... about 9 o'clock"
"Without prologue, a tone rises. The rolling wave of a sustained "D" steps closer to the conversations, to tap the audience on the shoulder. Heads turn towards the stage to answer the instrument as it clears its throat. The tone warms and grows, breathing in sync with the musician's body... the audience waiting for the song as the "D" flows around them like a living breathing serpentine spirit, wrapping and embracing the room. Anticipation is heavy in the air, thick with the questions asking, "What is this I am about to witness?" Bodies are permeated by powerful waves rippling through flesh and bone. Nerves bathed in a flood of sound as one string leads a chorus of sensations that tingle and tickle with each pulse... The darkness invoked by this song seems overbearing, overwhelming. As it retreats, an "A" soars in its wake, floating in the air to carry the hearts of the audience along on the two hour journey"
This is how it begins. A Dramatic Noise Project performance truly is a journey, of sounds that invite the audience into a tranquil embrace. The emotions and tangible tones swirl in the air seamlessly between songs, colors, and images. The Dramatic Noise Project understands that music is more than notes. Music is sound with a living breathing soul. And in order for that music to be worthy of the thousands of years of tradition that has come before, it must be imbued with a substantial and significant soul. Just as "a picture is worth a thousand words", a single note can be just as verbose and prolific. Each note is the precious progeny from the soul of the artist, and if strong enough will be able to take on a life of its own. A song then becomes a community, a culture, and its own society with a history, a presence, and a future. This is what the Dramatic Noise Project has been built on; pushing the envelope of music and musicianship to a level where the limits of language are surpassed and the message is conveyed directly to the listener.
Some have tried to classify and put the music of the Dramatic Noise Project in a genre and failed, but this is inherent in music that so thoroughly connects with the audience. It shows that the music from the Dramatic Noise Project speaks with an accent transcending the vocabulary of "Genre" and touches the audience so intimately that the music becomes as personal and individual as every listener. And that is the reason why the Dramatic Noise Project was created, to dispel the illusion of solitude in this too fast paced and cruelly hectic world that we have created for ourselves. To give people hope, and more importantly, a reason to hope.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes. A musician earns their keep by performing on stage. At preset the Dramatic Noise Project is in transition and will be relocating to the East Coast of the USA this Fall and will resume performances as soon as they are booked
