"The Doon" is really a band project in work. That's why its listed as experimental. I think when your trying to create new sounds and write interesting pieces it only "flows" when your experimenting.
So many times people ask that question and I usually just say how much time do you have.....I'll start from the beginning in Jr.High....in a garage somewhere.....so many stories so little time....and do they really care?
Usually they just move on!
Not currently. Cover tunes in clubs are fun and exciting but thats not really the idea here. The song list posted out there is really just ideas and conceptual orchestrations of pieces we would like to see recorded and finished within a studio environment. It's also turning into a long distance collaboration among people in different locations, so the Internet and this forum has become a big part of the technology being used here with us.
Special Moments:
All the moments are special when it "clicks". When it "clicks its magic!....just ask Fleetwood Mac or the Beatles or Pink Floyd....they'll tell ya...when it clicks in the studio, "magic" just happens!
Growing up in the 60's and 70's its hard to remember all of the Rock-n-Roll bands that influence your love of music....certainly The Beatles, The Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills, Nash and of course Young, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Abba, Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, America, Eagles, The Beach Boys, Herman's Hermits, Jethro Tull, Moody Blues, Electric Light Orchestra, Buffalo Springfield.....and later on The Police, Genesis, more currently Enya, Keiko, Green Day, U2, Sara Mc...(you know who you are) and on and on etc into infinity. Influence is always there waiting for inspiration!
I use Roland keyboards....my favorite is my new Fantom X7.
Mike has lots of drums....I'll have to get him to list them here someday when he feels like it...
