The DonnaDays are a 4 piece indie/rock/alternative band from the town of Kidsgrove in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. We are: Mixing elements from many diverse styles, we create something entirely new, not just another run of the mill band. Ranging from hard rocking, thrash-about songs, to heartfelt ballads, all the while having that spark makes us what we are; ourselves. We don't try to be any other band, we don't try to fit the current scene. In the words of one rocker, "we do what we like and we like what we do".
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, we play all over Stoke-on-Trent but also play just outside the area aswell. We are looking forward to playing at new places and with new people out of the area, and want to expand ASAP. Playing live is why we do it. There's just something about getting up there, playing a bunch of songs that you wrote and are proud of, and having a good time as the audience gets into it.
Your musical influences
Well, we al have a range of influences, in no particular order: The modern indie scene like Oasis, The Music, The Strokes, The killers etc. The classic rock era like Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Thin lizzy, The Who etc. Alternative bands like Coldplay, Dream Theater, Muse, Kasabian, etc. And also, just plain all out rockers like Foo Fighters, Bush, and even McFly (unfortunately).
What equipment do you use?
Oliver: Fender USA Standard Telecaster, Fender 90w solidstate, Planet Waves cables, any plectrum he can lay his hands on. Alex: Washburn X50Q, original '82 Marshall JCM 800 50w combo, Boss OD-2, homemade 'clean' pedal, Behringer EQ700, JD Craybaby wah, Planet Waves cables, Tortex plectrums. Daniel: Pearl Export kit-limited edition, Sabian cymbals, Mapex double bass pedal, AHead 7a stick. Andrew: Crusier by Crafter bass, amp=Whatever he can lay his hands on/'borrow', 2x Behringer BEQ700, Planet Waves cables.
