These songs were written, recorded, performed and produced by myself purely for my own entertainment and satisfaction. I have been recording for several years and find it to be a good way to document myself.
I like to think of this music as a type of scrap book.
A conglomeration of my inner thoughts archived and labeled.
Writing music and recording is a great pastime and wonderfully entertaining as an exercise in creativity. I feel that there is something at the very deepest core of my being that propels me in this cycle of writing, recording and self evaluationBand/artist history
I grew up in a little town outside of Boston. I always wanted to be a musician and performer. I started recording and being very interested in music and technology around the age of 15. Now 15 years later after several years of bitterness about my own shortcomings I have come to an understanding with myself that it was a good experience to have music as such a large influence in my life. Even if it never brings me anything tangible I will be entirely grateful.Have you performed in front of an audience? Most of this music has never been played live and probably won’t be. I play live in a separate project to fulfill the need of playing live.
Your musical influences
I like a little bit of everything. I could list my influences for and hour and a half and the idea you come up with will probably not match the sound that you hear. The music is so varied and disjointed that I would probably need a comparison and influence for each piece, but that hardly seems worthwhile currently. I am not so interested in picking up listeners from search engines based on the influences I list. What equipment do you use?
All of this music was recorded with a Pro-tools 001 system unless specified to be a 4-track recording. Almost all guitar and bass sounds were tracked using real instruments. Most of the voices are mine recorded with a Rode NT1 unless sampled, and the other sounds were designed with various pieces of hardware and software. The synth and drum sounds were created with a Roland Sound Canvas SC-8850 primarily (at least lately) also used a Korg X5, Rebirth, Grainwave (as a simple software sampler), various acoustic rhythm instruments.Anything else?
I AM NOT INTERESTED IN NEGATIVITY AS A RESPONSE TO THIS MUSIC. IF YOU DON’T LIKE SOMETHING I CAN ONLY SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO SOMETHING ELSE.
