The Discount Heroes
The Discount Heroes are two guys, one guitar and a lot of love.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Discount Heroes first started making music together in late 2001/early 2002. Frankie had written a song about a girl he met a few months earlier during Spring Break in Florida and asked Rob to come up with an arrangement for guitar. This is how "Laurel" came about and it was the first Discount Heroes song. Next came "Beautiful Maid" with Rob starting to add more complex vocal harmonies.
New songs kept coming and the Discount Heroes soon had a very unique sound. The duo started playing at open mics around New York City and recorded a demo CD in the fall of 2002 consisting of a live session taped over the course of one evening. They soon had their first gig and continued writing songs while booking shows around New York.
Today the Discount Heroes continue to evolve their music and are playing as frequently as possible. They look forward to recording their newer material later in 2004.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
