Hey Crag...
Thanx for swinging by. Great call on the Brian May. I was actually trying to achieve that sound. I just tripled the solo with 3 different guitars.
Xanth...?? Never heard of it. Sounds like a city on Venus.

Thanx for your time. I will be by often.

Hey...
Just listened to "He'll Take You There".
Sounds good.
I like the bass changing with the chord staying the same in the verses,(counterpoint).
It kinda' has a U2 feel to me.
Commercially it's a bit long. Cut about 2 1/2 minutes out somehow.
Other than that tho'..., I think you've got something good going here.
6.5 out of 10.
I'm always up for a review if you have the time. I've got a song on my site called "Clem Goes to Rehab".
It's just another song to me but I'm getting lots of feedback on it. 2000 downloads of it in November. Maybe you can fill me in.
Thanx for your time and the great tunes.

Hi, listened to "created a monster". Overall the song has a good feel to it, but its a song that feels like it should have a lot of power, but on the contary in places its a bit too weak and you never feel the power coming through mostly because of guitar setup, try stronger bassier settings. Vocals work well though and the piece is good to listen to and the solo is really good.

Hey dude, how are ya?
I took a listen to 'Justified' and 'Eminent Domain' and if memory serves me right the drums in particular sound a lot fatter. Perhaps the only suggestions i could make would be...
1)Make sure you compress your bass sound on Eminent Domain, it sounded a little bit too jumpy.
2)When you're arranging drums, particularly symbols, try accenting the symbols (in terms of note attack or volume) - it gives it a little bit more of a 'human' feel.
3) When you're doing backing vocals, pan them to the left or the right - that way it gives them some definition between the two vocals.
Cheers man, sounding good!

Hey Crag,
First off, thanks so much for stopping by with the kind words. We're totally humbled and grateful for the encouragement.
Bennie Swallowed the Nail-- ouch! Fantastic lyrics from what had to be a tough situation. Great job! Fuuny vocal delivery. I can dig it... It certainly works in this application.
Umm... to pick a few nits or two, I suppose I'd start with trying some variants of the drums (and I know that's a real challenge--OKL rarely has the luxury of a real drummer and it does make a difference.) You could also try some stacatto notes in the bass line to help give a bit of bounce to the track (versus the longs, droning sustained bass notes.) I try and think of Morse code when I get stuck on a bass line, the whole dot dash thing. -- . -- --- . ----- .. -- You get the idea. (in fact, ir you get REALLY stumped for a bass line, transcribe a word into Morse and force the rhythm to fit your part... )
I kinda like the thought of the the 3rd 'clincher'

Hi, thanks for the reviews always nice when someone really gets involved and instead of just a short review also leaves a message on my board to show additional interest. Nice songs there and keep improving and working on that singing.

Hey Crag...
Mike (NAV) here again. Well I got back gere as promised and listened to all of your tracks...and I will not review any of them...other than to say ...I liked 'em. Eminent Domain was my favorite...But "It's Not Enough" kind of grabbed me, too. Especially lyrically...I like songs that make me think about life. I guess it's not enough to know when we're wrong...it's all about learning how to do the next "right" thing. Very kewl stuff. Keep on rockin'!

Hey Crag....
Thanks for stopping by our page again...we appreciate you taking the time...and the kind words. No southern drawls anywhere to be found in this group...although I live in Palm Beach Florida now...we are all Connecticut boys. LOL. I'm in a SongPlanet live radio show now...so I promise to get back here to listen to all of your stuff tomorrow. BTW...I despise "labels" on bands...way too confining...and I have no problems with spiritual music...I am VERY spiritual myself. God is good...all the time! I am a living miracle...nine years clean after many years of hard-core addiction problems! I applaud you and your band. See you soon!
Hugs...Mike (NAV)

Hey Crag,
Had a listen to a few tunes, namely 'No One Cares', 'Lord of All' and 'Eminent Domain'. I like the oldschoolish, american punk sound you've got going there along with the strong classic rock overtones - it was a very pearl jam-ish mix there which is certainly not a common sound, particularly in today's very compartmentalised genre system.
The only thing i would have a look at is the drum sound. It's getting the job done for sure, but maybe look for a more true, acoustic tone (within the constraints of midi of course). It's my belief that a good drum sound can open up your spectrum of listeners as i've found a lot of people can be critical of canned drums and therefore have a prejudice against the songs as a whole.
Obviously i'm not one of those people, and i still enjoyed listening to your tunes!
Cheers, J.P.

Eminent Domain is the best of your bunch IMO and what I've been reading about the US government lately means the lyrics are very topical. Driving guitar and good tone are what sets this song up. Good stuff.
