The Cathodes
The Cathodes are a synth-rock band from the Tameside area of Manchester in the United Kingdom. The band are influenced by the melodies and sounds from the 80's.
"Not The Man" pairs warm vintage synths with crisp, melodic electric guitar to create a distinctly late-'80s pop-rock sound. While the lyrics explore moments of self-doubt and change, the music carries an upbeat, forward-moving energy.
This is a previously unreleased, original song written in the summer of 1989 and re-recorded this year. It features the original vintage synths of the 80s, with a sound from the Stock, Aiken and Waterman era of pop.
A song about young love, questions of falling in love and not wanting the day to end or being parted due to a parent's curfew.
This slightly spooky sounding song should fit in quite well for the Halloween season. The song was originally envisaged to be from a loved one who has passed away, essentially now a ghost.
The song reflects on the passage of time and possible missed opportunities with a nostalgic reflection on memories and relationships that have faded but are still held onto. It features the late Dave Townson on lead electric guitar.
