the capones
Formed in '97 THE CAPONES are a hybrid of two bands(PUSHING UP DAISIES and DESTITUTE VOGUE). Within their first year as a band they managed to be finalists in CHOM L'ESPRIT,played CMW,BMC and grace the cover of HOUR MAGAZINE to promote their debut album "MADE ON A WEDNESDAY" on SNS RECORDS.They were featured on TOO TALL'S MADE IN CANADA radio show on CHOM FM wich showcased 5 songs with an interview. Over the next two years they would play show after show including some opening slots for bands like BLINK 182,THE NIXONS,STAGGERED CROSSING,LINBLIFTER and MAHOGANY RUSH.All the while college radio would play "BOMBASTIC" and "LIVING A LIE". After playing over a year of shows(including NXNE FESTIVAL 2 years sraight)the band took some time off and went back in the studio to finish their second disc entitled "SHUT UP AND LISTEN!". This time they would release it through their own label WORLD RECORDS on OZONE DISTRIBUTION. Upon completion of the album they were featured once again on CHOM'S MADE IN CANADA. They were also featured on television playing the first single "GLOW" live on CJOH and ROGERS NETWORK. As well as hitting the road in support of SHUT UP AND LISTEN booking three tours of ontario in a row. In may THE CAPONES will hit the road again-first 12 dates in ontario once again followed by a tour of eastern canada in june before they do a crooss canada tour in the summer.
