The Burbs
Four unique styles, one unique sound; this is The Burbs. The creation of The Burbs started out much like most bands, in a garage. The Burbs originally started in 1999 as a three piece cover band. All three members were old hats at playing the club scene, and joined together just for the fun of jamming. During the process, two of the members starting writing music together. Over the last 6 years, there have been several changes to The Burbs; and now it has become its own unique experience. The Burbs consists of Kirk Loudon - Percusion, Vocals, Lyricist, keyboards; Jeff Vercher - Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Lyricist; Bob Dabbelt - Piano, keyboards, bass, electric guitar; and Melinda Wood - Vocals, Lyricist.
The Musical background of each member is different to say the least. From Clasically trained, to jazz, to Southern Rock, to Christian, to 70's anthem rock, to blues. Each song started out as a direction, and was rerouted through the influences of each member. Four Uniques Styles - One Unique Sound.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We no longer hit the club scene, but we do play out once a year. We have an annual Haloween Party for our friends and families. Last year we played host to approximately 250 people. This year we hopem to double that number.
