The Bugs
experimental / instrumental trio formed in '84...
Bill Cramer - guitars, synths, mandolin, harmonica
Dan Cramer - synths, vocoder, bass
Rob Wood - keyboards, bass, guitar
music uses a lotta delay lines... synths, bass, guitars generally... no vocals or drums... tracks are live... no overdubs or editing done: what you hear is what we heard.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
check our site if that sorta stuff interests you.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
gig in western Canada... the home of apathy for ambient / experimental music.
Your musical influences
none we're aware of.
OTHER people tell us we sound like:
Fripp & Eno, Tomita, Terry Riley, Klaus Schultz, Space Art, "Mogwai remixed by Brian Eno", "chill-out", "analog IDM", "crap", "kraut-rock", Weather Report, Philip Glass, "sleepy-time music"... (and some jerk from Leduc, Alberta said "new age")
What equipment do you use?
Korg, Roland, Kawai, Yamaha, Akai, Casio for synths & samplers... bunch'o'Hofner stuff (mostly) for guitars... couple custom basses, and other weird instruments we have lying around... Electro-Harmonix, Boss, Yamaha, Roland, Alesis for effects boxes... buncha pedals.
Anything else?
