The Bosses
The Bosses
.. .. .. .. ..
Triple Threat:
Charisma, potency, ambition, bite. These were among several key characteristics Co-Owner and Executive Vice President Ray Vanacore was looking for in early 2003 when he and A&R man Kedar Nemley formed a new record label with a vision to bring some of the most promising recording artists to the forefront of the music industry. With business savvy and a penchant for developing hot talent, Vanacore and Nemley rounded out the management trifecta by recruiting Vice President of A&R and Marketing Anthony Spalletta to spearhead acquisition and sales, and Triple Threat Records was born.
The trio scoured the New York City area for local talent that would provide key ingredients in a recipe that many believe has the potential to redefine local and far-flung perceptions of commercial hip hop success. Months of auditions and studio sessions later, their hard work paid off as they narrowed a 100+ roster of up and coming rappers down to two: a mysterious Bronx rapper by the name of Trek and the young, Rockland-based rap prodigy Jelani.
..........The Bosses:
Trek and Jelani hit it off in the studio instantaneously; Trek with a smooth, syncopated Zen-like style honed by years in the game, and Jelani with hard-hitting edgy rhymes that he shaped putting together mix tapes in his basement studio with his local H-Cide crew. A composition of seasoned experience and youthful rawness, the new Triple Threat alliance brought synergies out of the tandem that caught the ears of record execs, and a new hip hop sound was born. Strengthened by their collaboration and ready to prove who’s in charge, the duo was crowned with the title of “The Bosses.”
Having already worked with Trek on previous solo efforts, producer Chris Cubeta, or “C-Boogie” as he is known, already knew half of the equation when he pulled The Bosses into his studio to casually record the two and feel the Triple Threat project out. Cubeta’s talent shined through immediately and it was clear to Triple Threat management that they had found the man that could take The Bosses to the top. Weeks later, Cubeta pulled the Bosses back into the studio and broke down their style, setting a game plan for the production of an album that had all the pieces for commercial success. With expert precision, C-Boogie molded their raw stylistic genius into a brilliantly polished, self-titled debut effort, The Bosses, creating a stir in New York hip hop scene while simultaneously taking his career to new heights.
.........The Future:
Less than two years and one breakout album since its inception, the future of Triple Threat Records is clearand the best has yet to come. Vanacore, Spalletta, and Nemley continue to scout, sign, and manage additional talent to complement The Bosses and expand the Triple Threat Records lineup. The goal of Triple Threat Records is to find and develop highly-focused, driven, talented artists. The Triple Threat team will use its A&R talent, management experience, and vast resources to find and develop our artists’ creativity and help them build highly visible, marketable careers. Holla.
