The BOP
We're a danish band, with 4 rehearsals and one gig behind us so far...Honestly! We've put this band together really fast and what we play is what we are. Check out the results!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
How far can you come in 2 rehearsals?
When things come together, you can get really far and that is the case with BOP
In June 2006 Ole Fryd had left Thailand, where he has been living with his wife Oat. One evening Ole, who's main instrument is bass, ask his brother Peter make a band....or he might get bored living in Denmark. Peter instantly called his working colleague Brian Fridahl - a highly rated drummer of the Danish underground - and BOP was formed.
After the first rehearsal the the member of the newly formed band were ecstatic. They had created 4 new songs in just as many hours and the prolific cooperation, during the following rehearsal, continued
Shortly after Brian held a garden party and a live recording was made. 4 song from that event is available as free download on this site.
Ole was the same week offered a civil job in Greenland, which he accepted. They met up once more make a final recording, which could stand as a memory of "when things just come together" The result was "Seasons". Brian and Peter got hold of the talented singer Stine Brown who put on a new vocal and re-wrote the lyrics and BOP's final recording became "You Can't Seize the Day Before the Sun's Gone Down".
Brian and Peter desperately tried to find a suitable replacement for Ole, but it seemed more and more like the magic has gone. Finally it made no sense of continuing without the important 3rd member.
But...
Ole came back to Denmark for a short visit in April 2007 and did not hesitate to team up with Brian and Peter. 2 new songs was created and recorded in 2-3 hours.
And of cause once again:
Things just came together
