The story starts in 1986 when a group of friends, all living in Ulefoss, Norway, started a band called Country Canal. Later the name was changed to The Big Bull Band and today Hans Olaf Kastodden is the last of the original members.
The BBB has performed at different venues all around Norway and Denmark during all this time. They have been known as performers of the so-called Outlaw style, introduced by Waylon Jennings in the 70s. The band is influenced by artists like Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and of course Waylon Jennings.
In 2005 they released their first album, called A tribute to Waylon Jennings, featuring their favourite Waylon recordings. They got great reviews from many parts of the world.
In the spring of 2008 The Big Bull Band will release their second album. This time with mostly original music composed by the band-members. In February 2008 they produced the video Our Own Way which is the title track of the CD. The video is also a part of CD.alt country.
