This is most definitely classic Bard Brothers. Minimalist, darkish, wistful, and full of great imagery. I liked the space alot and when the backup vox came in it was killer. Great lyrics.."prayin' for the sky to burn"...excellent! Instrumentation fit the song well and the vocals were top shelf, generating images of a man in a field looking up at the sky (for me) ...a poor farmer, who is always at the mercy of Mother Nature's extremes. If i had to nitpick on tech issues. i would just suggest raising the volume on the intro guitar. Outside of that, i think the mix and production are fine. Good tune and nice job on this one Damian!

Song: Stand Up
I had no idea you guys ever did stuff like this. Is this new?Who did the drums? Good writing here and lyrics delivered solidly and with emotion by Tim. I liked the panned guitars, which were mixed well and didn't detract from the vocal focus. The big stereo lead came in like a hurricane. Nice riffage there! Such a departure from your older songs. Spreading your musical wings..and doing it in style! Audacity again?

Had me smiling all thru this one. Not that it was a funny song at all...just because it is so out of the box from most of your work. Your lyrics always leave a lot to the imagination...and deliver great imagery. They have power...and those insane, overdriven, distorted leads impart an almost psychotic feel to your verse. I loved that. They also provided a nice dynamic. Deia did well to. The outro was creative and cool. Nice one!

Some serious writing here. retrospection and introspection. A rather dark and contemplative tune, like many of your songs are. They tend to give the listener a lot to think about. I really liked all the background touches, the hushed vocals, the harmonies, the strings were ace and the sparse but creative leads and harmonics were interesting. I dropped one star just because I thought the lead vox were just a touch too far out front (much better than buried tho!) That's nit pickin' tho and just subjective stuff. The song is excellent. Mixed in Audacity?

Well you're right, I do definitely love this tune. It's happy, energetic, has fun lyrics, it's well sung with a nice arrangement and some cool instrumental breaks. What more is there? Fine tune. Gonna add it to my bluegrass station, The Howl.

Happy and uplifting. Kind of a Civil War vibe for me. Speaks of hope and promise. Nice pickin'. Clean recording. Generates good imagery. Nice post!

Interesting little arrangement. Musical weaving. A tapestry with strings. Uncluttered and creative. Liked it!

Great tune! Loved the mando with a bit of guitar..the minimalist production is all that is needed when you write such excellent lyrics. Good imagery..just tangible enough to grasp but abstract enough to stimulate the imagination. Loved the vox and nice harmonies. Most definitely my kinda stuff, altho I have enjoyed many of your tunes. Keep up the good work!
